GPM Data, a technological partner of the Gazprom-Media Sales House, became a winner of the Data Fusion Awards, an annual all-Russian cross-industry event

The award identifies the most effective projects by analyzing big data and creating synergy in different industries and promotes the development of the Russian market for Big Data processing, AI, and machine learning technology.

The event was attended by experts from leading IT corporations and Russian universities. GPM Data, Gazprom-Media Holding’s consolidated center for big data operations, was recognized by the jury.
The Stable ID for Programmatic DOOH project won the Data Fusion Technologies. Analytics as a Service category.
The project is a complete package of Stable ID-based solutions. It provides analytics for the planning of advertising campaigns, enables targeted launches both through recommender engines and through programmatic tools, and helps evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns.
The product shows great promise for the entire DOOH (Digital Out of Home) market:
  • More than 100 million unique events are processed monthly from Wi-Fi sniffers
  • More than 1,000 digital surfaces are connected to the integrated GPM Data profile
  • Penetration of key DOOH attributes in Moscow has reached 60%
  • More than 300 million advertising exposures were generated by the 2022 advertising campaigns
  • The targeted cost-per-thousand (tCPT) figure has been decreased by up to 50% in programmatic purchasing vs the classic “drum”
The Video Tagging System project was shortlisted by the Award. VTS, an AI-based video content-recognition service, was created on the basis of computer vision and neural network technology. It can recognize faces, speech, prevailing color schemes, poses, and movements of characters in the frame, perform object detection, classify cinematic shots, and much more.
The technological service involves 4 areas of application:
  • Production. Accelerated material selection, auto subtitling, and timecode markup.
  • Advertising. Creation and evaluation of advertising inventory, preparation of markup for promotional mid-roll display, and automation of personalized advertising messages.
  • Moderation. Detection of company logos, persons, and unwanted phrases.
  • Personalization. Use of video metadata to build recommender systems and create engaging applications.
The first users of the Video Tagging System were the Friday and Saturday TV channels, along with the PREMIER online cinema, owned by Gazprom-Media Holding. The system has accelerated the selection of video inventory for creating promotional videos by more than 20 times. The time required to caption content has been reduced by 4 times.
The Data Fusion Awards celebrate achievements in the promotion of the Data Fusion trend, delivering successful cross-industry projects in big data analysis based on machine learning algorithms and artificial intelligence, and developing corresponding Open Source solutions and specialist training initiatives. The award categories recognize the best projects in the public sector, business, and education.
The winners also included projects by leading retailers, banks, technology companies, and financial institutions. In particular, a high-load analytical service for chain retailers, a decision support system for shopping malls, solutions for data transmission security and AI, and others.
