Battle of the Strongest: GPM AdTech Challenge Hackathon Finals Held in Moscow
On March 30, the final event of the GPM AdTech Challenge hackathon, organized by Gazprom-Media Sales House and Getintent programmatic platform, took place in Moscow. More than 300 IT specialists from all over Russia joined forces to create cutting-edge solutions in digital advertising and media.
Over a two-week period, participants collaborated on innovative products with the support of seasoned mentors. Teams were tasked with creating an automated tool for transcribing and translating entertainment content into foreign languages, as well as designing a model for predicting online conversions.
The prize fund of 1 million rubles was divided among the eight winning teams. The Kvadritseps team won the track for developing multilingual content. They created a high-tech open-source solution based on domestic research to separate background sounds from characters’ speech. Their solution offers multiple voiceover options and the subsequent translation of videos. The jury highly praised the work and the result, awarding 1st place and 300 thousand rubles. The Good Genius team also presented high-potential solutions, securing 2nd place and 100 thousand rubles, while the Bitcoin Bandits team received a prize of 50 thousand rubles.
In the second track, the Daite Dva team was recognized as the best by the experts for developing a service that can generate highly accurate purchase likelihood predictions based on data about previous ad impressions and third-party conversions. The model singles out potential buyers, taking into account the time elapsed from the moment of interaction with the advertising message. The team received 300 thousand rubles for their solution. Random Click took 2nd place and 100 thousand rubles, and WB Heroes won 50 thousand rubles. Both teams have also demonstrated outstanding results.
In addition to the main prizes, the jury awarded a special Audience Choice Award of 50 thousand rubles to the Netrunners and Potom Pridumayu teams for their non-standard and creative approaches to the tasks.
This hackathon has proven to be not only a great competitive arena, but also a future-proof platform for innovation and partnership, as well as a powerful push for stimulating technological initiatives in the field of media and digital advertising. The new insights, together with the competition format, provide a solid foundation for the productive development of the AdTech market.
